Results

The report describes the climate-induced effects of coastal/river flooding, pluvial flooding, drought, and hot weather on Rheden. These climate-induced effects are then combined with a landscape analysis of the soil, water, and green vegetation (Natural Alliance). This combination results in a map of vulnerabilities that sketch a picture of the climate-change challenges facing the municipality.

The exploration of the climate-change challenges covers the period running up to 2050. Rheden has developed a programme of spatial adaptation for the first five years. In this programme, attention is given to:

  • Analysis: accumulation of knowledge and the accessibility of information;
  • Ambition: policy, internal and external collaboration;
  • Action: embedding, implementation programme, pilot projects.
