Climate change entails more downpours. Predictions indicate that the number of downpours is going to increase in the years ahead, as is their severity. It is not a temporary phenomenon, which is why it is certainly worth our while to consider just how downpour-proof our house, street or neighbourhood really is. This is what the public campaign HoHoHoosbui, launched by the Rivierenland district water board, is about. The dedicated campaign website www.hohohoosbui.nl provides residents with tips and ideas regarding individual measures to be taken in and around houses and gardens. It also features interviews with residents having experienced waterlogging. Because prevention is better than cure. And every little bit helps in this respect.
