The Pluvial Flooding Map [Wateroverlastlandschapskaart (WOLK)] shows at a glance where water runs off to and where extreme precipitation would cause nuisance in your area. Heavy downpours may result in large volumes of water on the streets. This may obstruct traffic or even cause total gridlock, as well as cause pluvial flooding in buildings and houses. In addition, dirty or stagnant water on the street may entail health risks.

Preventing this requires spatial planning measures, such as additional storage, for example, in green spaces or at squares, or measures directing the water the proper way. WOLK visualises how rainwater is discharged under extreme precipitation, while at the same time pointing out locations where (aboveground) measures could be considered.
